The two run-outs were game-changing moments: Rashid

July 24, 2022 | Leave a Comment

After a five-match winning streak, Gujarat Titans have suffered two defeats in a row against clubs in the lower half of the standings. However, Mumbai Indians drew the Titans to within one run of victory with their dramatic finish.

In light of this defeat, did anyone question Rashid’s leadership? There was a definite response from the vice-captain. At least four or five of our matchups ended with us getting the runs we needed. There are days when you can get 20 off six, and there are days when you can’t get 10 off six in T20 cricket.

“I thought we played well the entire game,” said Coach Johnson. We had a good comeback, given how they started. The game was decided by the two run-outs. It’s doable if you just need 8-9 runs in the final over. T20 cricket’s beauty is that you just need one good shot to win the game. Getting nine out of six balls can be difficult at times, but getting nine out of two balls is much easier. “We learn from our mistakes and go forward,”

Rashid has taken 11 wickets in as many matches, which puts him third on the team behind Mohammed Shami and Lockie Ferguson in terms of wicket-takers. It’s not surprising, given that most teams prefer to leave Rashid alone rather than try to attack him. There is no need to worry about the wickets falling as long as other bowlers are taking them, the leg-spinner said.

“Taking wickets in T20s is usually a rewarding experience for a bowler. It’s a little different for me. Every time I bowl, I think about the economy and how I need to do well. When I bowl efficiently, it puts the batters under pressure. We expect wickets from the other end,” he said. Yes, this year I’ve taken fewer wickets than in previous seasons, but it’s not a lot.” There’s a gulf of 2 or 3 wickets. Three to four wickets are on the line. My bowling has been subpar in a few matches, but that’s T20 cricket. “You have so much to learn, and I’m just doing my best.”

Because of their dominant run, the Titans are still leading the points table. Is there cause for concern, despite the two defeats? It should, but it shouldn’t in all cases. There is still a chance for the top two spots to be threatened by the Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals, who have eight wins apiece and some breathing room.

When things go rough for the Titans, they’ve found a variety of guys to help them out. To make things even better, the bowlers showed up to help their team win with a score of 112. However, the win over Mumbai was a fantastic pattern for the Titans to follow going forward. It demonstrated their capabilities while also demonstrating progress in areas where they still need to improve.

When Mumbai got off to a good start, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 74 in the first seven overs, the Titans were able to recover. Mumbai got off to a flying start with to quick wickets, and despite a strong finish from Tim David, they were probably bowled out for less than a par total. Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha’s 106-run opening stand was the Titans’ biggest positive. As usual, Titans’ opening hitters scored half-centuries, and their aggressiveness made a difficult chase almost routine.

Titans’ lack of desire in their match against Mumbai can be cited as a reason for their defeat. Rashid Khan hailed Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia’s runs outs as the game’s pivotal moments. When Tewatia was out on the third ball of the game’s final over, the captain was out for 18. Daniel Sams was able to save eight in the last over as a consequence. After refusing to dive, both players were just a hair short.

For the Titans, it’s all about learning and keeping the momentum going until the final whistle. It’s not going to hurt them to lose two straight games if they can smooth out the kinks. This team will now focus on what Rashid said: “You have to learn from those experiences.” “We must now work hard to avoid repeating the mistakes we have made so far in the competition.” We’ll benefit from this experience. If we find ourselves in a scenario like this again, we need to focus on finishing the games.”

If LSG defeats the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday (May 7), Titans could drop to second place. It’s improbable that you’ll get worry lines despite being deposed.
