The guidelines on Tamil Nadu Lockdown
The government of Tamil Nadu has announced the extension of the lockdown induced by COVID on 28 May 2021 to 6 a.m. on 7 June 2021.
Continuous lock-up was planned to end on 31 May but the lock-out has been extended in light of the increased COVID-19 infections and deaths.
Full lockdown guidelines for Tamil Nadu as of 1 June
Activity permitted
- Shops for ration between 8 am and 12 pm
- Essential service, distribution of newspapers, post and postal services.
- Diagnostic centers and hospitals, ambulances, funeral, veterinary pharmacies.
- Important departments such as secretariat offices, collection districts, treasury.
- Centers of Immunization.
- Banks, ATMs and bank transportation, but with one third of the staff.
- Bunks of gasoline and diesel.
- Media, telecoms, and related companies.
- There is a maximum of 20 people allowed to attend funerals.
Activities not allowed
- The non-essential movement of vehicles between districts and within districts (including public transport).
- Worship sites.
- Tourist sites, beaches, monuments, gardens and parks.
- All shops would continue to be closed, including food stores and meat stalls.
- Units with export commitments Export Units
- Likor Shops TASMAC retail.
- Beauty salons and spas. Beauty salons.
- Clubs, swimming pools, bars, auditoriums, amusement parks, halls for meetings.
- Retail sales and other market locations in Koyambedu.
- It would be impossible to hold all social, political, sport, recreational, educational and cultural events indoor or outdoor.
- Closed would be all private offices, IT and ITES. Staff can work at home.
- The Nilgiris and Kodaikanal tourist hubs.
- Camps of summer.
- Tea and platform suppliers
